Serial I/O Interface
Bibaja's Serial I/O interface sources and schematics are now released for non-commercial use. Educational and hobby users may use the schematics, source, and board layout in their projects free of charge.	(Click to zoom)
Schematics, PCB layout, and 8051 assembly source are provided in the Downloads box to the right. Fully assembled and tested units are still available in our online store while supplies last. We will build more for groups or distributor who buy 25 units or more. Contact us to ask about group buys or distribution of this product. Bibaja's Serial I/O interface provides 4 inputs and 4 open collector outputs for Mini-ITX and other PC's with a standard serial port pin header and one free PCI card slot. Inputs may be used to sense contact closures at rates up to 100 closures per second. Outputs may be used to drive relays for switching AC loads or to directly drive 12V devices.
The Serial I/O interface features: 16 spring cage terminal blocks for screwless connection of 18 AWG through 26 AWG wires 4 Open collector outputs with 500ma peak combined current capability 4 12V Supply terminals with 500ma PTC fuse protection 4 Inputs with pullups to 5V for sensing contact closures 4 Ground terminals for convenient wiring 1 Pushbutton input 1 Green LED 1 Red LED PCI Card Bracket with I/Os marked Headers for two different serial port pinouts Floppy and hard drive style power connections
