Bibaja's IOPoint-USB provides 16 high current mosfet switches capable of directly driving motors, fans, lamps, solenoids, and more without relays.

Isolation helps protect the USB and computer from the high currents and voltages switched at the 16 outputs.

Each output is rated 12 volts DC at 9 amps. For driving much larger loads, 12VDC relays or heavy-duty contactors may be connected to the outputs to switch industrial equipment and high voltage/high current AC loads.

Bibaja's IOPoint-USB features:

16 High Current Digital Outputs (Up to 9A @ 12V per output)

Isolation between USB and outputs

Outputs support 5V to 18V at 9 amps

16 LED indicators (one per output)

USB Power/Status LED

USB B Connector

19 Durable Quick Disconnect Terminals

Applications for the IOPoint-USB include:

DC Motor Control

4-axis Unipolar Stepper Motor Control

Solenoids, Relays, Contactors

Horns, Bells, Alarms

Blowers/Fans

Pumps

Low Voltage DC Lighting

12V LED Drivers

Enclosures for the IOPoint-USB are available from Unibox:

Example Applications
A group of enterprising students from the robotics team at Lee's Summit West High School in Lee's Summit, MO, used the IOPoint-USB plus machine vision software to create a very cool robot that plays Guitar Hero. You can see the IOPoint-USB in action at 2:13 in this video:

More videos of the Guitar Hero robot may be found on the Team Titanium Robotics YouTube channel.

Using an IOPoint-USB, you can create your own "Solenoid Concert" similar to this one:

Use Pure Data (Pd) (Free download) and access the IOPoint-USB as serial interface (using the Pd 'comport' object) and you'll be up and banging on things with solenoids in no time. All you will need is an IOPoint-USB, power supply, solenoids, things to bang on, and a computer running the Pd application.

See the Pure Data example code below for examples of how to interface from your Pd sequencer to the IOPoint-USB. Pure Data (Pd) is a real-time graphical programming environment for audio, video, and graphical processing. It's also a handy tool for control applications.
